TRANSMISSION LINE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER @ POWERCHINA
POWERCHINA is seeking a highly qualified Transmission Line Electrical Engineer to join our team in Nairobi. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the design of power transmission projects ranging from 110 kV to 500 kV across East and Southern Africa. This role involves comprehensive electrical design, including route selection support, insulation coordination, and the selection of conductors and fittings. You will be based at the PowerChina Complex on Dagoretti Road, collaborating with a diverse team of professionals to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in the design of 132 kV and above transmission lines.
Proficiency in PLS-CADD for transmission line modelling and calculations.
Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, BS, ANSI, or equivalent.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) is an added advantage.
Chinese language ability is an added advantage.
Expertise in insulation coordination and lightning protection design.
Experience in grounding design for power systems.
Knowledge of conductor, fittings, and OPGW configuration selection.
Proven ability to prepare technical proposals, drawings, and calculations.
Strong communication skills for technical coordination with project stakeholders.
