WORKSHOP MANAGER OPERATIONS & TECHNICAL SERVICES @ PMM ESTATES (2001) LTD
As the Workshop Manager for Operations & Technical Services at PMM ESTATES (2001) LTD, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the operational efficiency of our Inland Container Depot in Dar es Salaam. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the maintenance of a diverse fleet, including trucks, reach stackers, forklifts, and heavy plant equipment. You will be tasked with driving fleet availability and ensuring that all safety standards are strictly adhered to while managing a dedicated technical team. Beyond technical oversight, this role requires strategic leadership to optimize workshop performance and manage team dynamics. You will coordinate closely with logistics operations to minimize downtime and implement preventive maintenance programs. By leveraging your extensive experience in heavy fleet maintenance and your professional engineering credentials, you will play a critical role in the company's success and operational continuity within the logistics sector.
Key Requirements
BSc/BEng Mechanical Engineering
Mandatory ERB Registration
10+ years in heavy fleet and plant maintenance
5+ years in a supervisory or managerial workshop role
Expert knowledge of reach stackers and forklifts maintenance
Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams
Strong understanding of occupational health and safety in technical environments
Experience in Inland Container Depot (ICD) operations
Ability to implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules
Proficiency in technical reporting and budget management
