PMM Estates (2001) Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Workshop Manager to lead the operations and technical services at their Dar es Salaam Inland Container Depot (ICD). This senior role focuses on the comprehensive maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet, including heavy trucks, reach stackers, forklifts, and various heavy plant machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum fleet availability, optimizing performance, and maintaining the highest standards of safety within the workshop environment.
Beyond technical oversight, the Workshop Manager will lead a dedicated team of technicians and mechanics, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Key responsibilities include strategic planning for preventive maintenance, managing technical budgets, and ensuring compliance with ERB regulations. The role is critical to the efficiency of the ICD logistics operations, requiring a visionary leader with over a decade of hands-on experience in heavy fleet management and a proven track record in supervisory roles.

Key Requirements
BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
ERB Registration (mandatory).
At least 10 years of experience in heavy fleet/plant maintenance.
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or managerial workshop role.
Expertise in maintenance of trucks, reach stackers, and forklifts.
Ability to drive fleet availability and ensure operational safety.
Strong leadership skills to manage a technical team and performance.
In-depth knowledge of heavy plant machinery and mechanical systems.
Experience in preventive maintenance scheduling and technical reporting.
Strong problem-solving skills in a high-pressure logistics environment.
