ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN (1) @ PLASCO
PLASCO is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to join our team in Dar es Salaam. This pivotal role involves the comprehensive implementation of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting procedures for various electrical systems, equipment, and tools within our robust processing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of electrical systems and their components, precisely evaluating their condition, identifying necessary repairs, and proactively recommending preventive maintenance strategies to ensure continuous and efficient operational flow. This position is critical for upholding the high quality standards PLASCO is known for.
Key responsibilities also include the installation of new electrical system components to provide enhanced and/or upgraded electrical capabilities, expertly performing high voltage switching operations, and efficiently operating generators to support ongoing factory operations. A crucial aspect of this role is the ability to swiftly diagnose the root causes of electrical problems or failures, ensuring quick and immediate responses to emergency situations both during and after regular hours to resolve any electrical breakdowns within the factory. All tasks must be performed in strict adherence to applicable codes, industry standards, and comprehensive safety and environmental regulations as mandated by the head of the department. Candidates are expected to bring a Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a medium to heavy processing industry, with experience in HDPE/uPVC pipe manufacturing or a similar sector being a distinct advantage. Proficiency in preventive maintenance systems, alongside experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complete electrical systems, is essential. Knowledge of industrial automation, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC systems, will be highly valued, as will the demonstrated ability to diagnose common equipment failures and identify their underlying causes.

Key Requirements
Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a medium to heavy processing industry (e.g., HDPE/uPVC pipe manufacturing).
