ASSISTANT MANAGER @ PLANET LODGES & LAIRS CAMPS
Planet Lodges & Lairs Camps is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team across our stunning locations in Tanzania, including Arusha, the Serengeti, and Tarangire. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all guests receive personalized, warm, and attentive service from arrival to departure. This role involves active engagement with guests to anticipate their needs, gathering feedback, and assisting the Lodge Manager in the daily operations of the property. The Assistant Manager will oversee various departments, including the Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Maintenance, ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained. Additionally, the role involves managing staff scheduling, inventory procurement, and financial transactions such as invoicing and petty cash. Candidates should be comfortable working in remote safari environments and have a strong background in hospitality management and team leadership.
Key Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in hospitality operations.
At least 4 years of experience specifically in camp or lodge management roles.
Previous experience working in remote safari camps or lodges is highly preferred.
Proven ability in team management, including recruiting, training, and mentoring staff.
Strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills in a high-pressure environment.
Demonstrated expertise in hospitality operations management and standard operating procedures.
Experience in budget management, cost control, and financial record-keeping.
Proficiency in inventory management, procurement, and stock control.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest complaints professionally.
