TEMPORARY MERL ASSISTANT @ PLAN INTERNATIONAL TANZANIA
Plan International Tanzania is seeking to recruit a skilled and detail-oriented Temporary MERL Assistant to support the Rapid Pre-Project Assessment for the proposed Inclusive Digital Futures project. The primary purpose of this assignment is to provide robust evidence to strengthen project design and ensure interventions are responsive to the needs of youth, women, persons with disabilities, and various stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for finalizing data collection tools, facilitating pre-testing, and coordinating with local government authorities to identify and mobilize target respondents across several operational areas.
The project activities and data collection will take place across several regions in Tanzania, specifically Geita, Mwanza, Mara, Morogoro, Pwani, Rukwa, Katavi, and Kigoma. The assistant will oversee smooth interviews and consultation meetings, supervise enumerators, and ensure strict adherence to ethical standards and data collection protocols. This role also involves significant reporting responsibilities, including assisting in the transcription of qualitative data and writing comprehensive reports in accordance with approved structures. Key Requirements
Bachelor degree in development studies, social sciences, M&E, Demography, gender studies, or statistics
Experienced in data collection for social science research, ideally with a focus on M&E
Basic skills in quantitative and qualitative data collection
Basic skills in utilizing digital tools for data collection
Interest working in field and communities
Good in Kiswahili and English report writing and oral presentation skills
Ability to facilitate pre-testing of data collection tools and questions guidelines
Capability to coordinate with local government authorities at district, ward, and village levels
Experience in identification and mobilization of target respondents
Ability to supervise enumerators during data collection to ensure protocol adherence
