CREDIT AND RISK OFFICER @ PHOENIX CAPITAL UGANDA
We are looking for an analytical Credit and Risk Officer to join Phoenix Capital Uganda's team in Kampala. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of loan applicants by analyzing financial data and evaluating potential risks. You will develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize defaults and ensure the health of our loan portfolio. By maintaining strict adherence to credit policies and regulatory standards, you will support the company’s mission of providing responsible financial solutions. You will also be required to prepare detailed credit reports and present recommendations to the management team. This role demands a high level of accuracy and the ability to identify subtle indicators of financial risk. Your contributions will be essential in balancing the company's growth objectives with sustainable risk management practices.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in credit analysis or risk management.
Strong understanding of credit scoring and risk assessment methodologies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel.
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
Knowledge of financial regulations and micro-lending practices in Uganda.
Ability to perform thorough background checks and due diligence.
Strong decision-making skills regarding loan approvals.
Attention to detail in financial documentation.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
