COLLECTION AND RECOVERY OFFICER @ PHOENIX CAPITAL UGANDA
Phoenix Capital Uganda is hiring a Collection and Recovery Officer for our Kampala operations. This role is focused on the professional and efficient recovery of outstanding debts from clients with overdue accounts. You will engage with customers to negotiate payment plans and resolve repayment issues, ensuring that recovery targets are met consistently. Your daily tasks will include conducting field visits and making follow-up calls to maintain constant communication with delinquent borrowers. In addition to recovery activities, you will be responsible for documenting all interactions and updating the collection database accurately. You will work closely with the credit and legal departments to identify accounts that require escalation and provide input on improving recovery strategies. Your ability to balance firm negotiation with customer service will be key to your success in this high-impact position.
Key Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in debt collection and recovery.
Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills.
Understanding of the legal framework governing debt recovery.
Ability to work under pressure and meet monthly collection targets.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
High degree of resilience and problem-solving ability.
Valid driver's license or riding permit is an added advantage.
Proficiency in tracking and reporting daily collection activities.
Professionalism and ethical conduct when dealing with delinquent clients.
