FIELD ENGINEER - IT & NETWORK SYSTEMS (2 POSITIONS) @ PETABYTE AIRCOM TANZANIA
Petabyte Aircom Tanzania is seeking two dedicated Field Engineers specializing in IT and Network Systems to join their technical team in Dar es Salaam. The primary focus of this role involves the physical installation and maintenance of wireless communication systems, including Point-to-Point (PTP), Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP), and Wi-Fi networks, as well as fiber optic systems. The successful candidates will be responsible for the end-to-end setup and configuration of complex network environments.
In addition to installation, the engineers will manage network configurations such as IP management, VLAN setup, and routing protocols. Troubleshooting and maintaining network performance are critical components of the daily routine to ensure high availability for clients. Candidates are expected to support project execution and maintain detailed documentation while strictly adhering to safety standards and company compliance policies. Key Requirements
1-2 years experience in IT/Network deployment
Diploma or Degree in IT, Telecom, or related field
Knowledge of networking and wireless technologies
Basic fiber knowledge is an added advantage
Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
Ability to install wireless (PTP/PTMP, Wi-Fi) and fiber systems
Proficiency in configuring networks including IP, VLANs, and routing
Capability to troubleshoot and maintain network performance
Experience in supporting project execution and documentation
Commitment to ensuring compliance with safety and company standards
