HEALTH AND SAFETY SUPERINTENDENT @ PERSEUS MINING
Perseus Mining is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Superintendent to join their team in Tanzania. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance at the company's operations. The successful candidate will play a critical part in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust safety management systems, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and contractors, and adherence to national and international safety standards.
The Health and Safety Superintendent will be tasked with leading safety initiatives, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, investigating incidents, and promoting a proactive safety culture across the site. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental science principles and occupational safety and health regulations, particularly those relevant to the mining sector. The incumbent will also be responsible for training staff, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in environmental science or OSHA certification (NOS 1 & NOS).
Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably within the mining industry.
In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards.
Ability to develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures.
Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a safety team and engage with all levels of staff.
Experience in conducting thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
Proficiency in safety management systems and reporting tools.
Ability to deliver effective health and safety training programs.
Commitment to fostering a strong and proactive safety culture.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail for compliance assurance.
