FRONTEND ENGINEER @ PENTABELL
Pentabell is seeking a highly skilled Frontend Engineer to join a leading client in the banking sector based in Kenya. In this role, you will be responsible for building and enhancing high-quality frontend and mobile applications, specifically focusing on high performance, superior user experience, and seamless payment integrations within the fintech space. You will work on critical tasks such as configuring development environments, reviewing codebase, and documenting architecture to ensure a robust frontend foundation.
Your responsibilities will extend to collaborating with Data Scientists to produce analytics instrumentation plans and defining event taxonomy for precise tracking. You will also implement push provisioning UI components, build CYBS integration components, and ensure that all new code reaches at least 70% unit test coverage. This position requires a proactive professional capable of signing off on frontend flows with UI/UX designers and ensuring that all functional tests pass across a diverse device matrix prior to UAT and production stages.

Key Requirements
Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in payments, fintech, or mobile money application development.
Extensive frontend/mobile engineering experience with a focus on user-centric design.
Proven experience consuming RESTful APIs and handling complex asynchronous data flows.
Familiarity with mobile app testing frameworks and UI test automation tools.
Strong understanding of mobile performance optimization and network efficiency.
Experience implementing third-party SDK or payment gateway integrations within mobile apps.
Working knowledge of analytics/event-tracking SDK integration such as Firebase or Mixpanel.
Ability to document component library inventory and reusable frontend components.
Proficiency in Git version control and collaborating in an agile sprint environment.
