LAND USE PLAN OFFICER @ OIKOS EAST AFRICA
Oikos East Africa (OEA) is seeking a dedicated Land Use Plan Officer to join their Biodiversity Conservation Programme in Arusha, Tanzania. This position is primarily focused on the Ecoboma 3 project but involves supporting various other OEA initiatives, such as the RESTORE project. The officer will be responsible for land use planning and management, working closely with local stakeholders, including village and district authorities, to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation. The Land Use Plan Officer will collaborate with the Administration and Logistics departments to ensure field trips to project areas are effectively executed.
The successful candidate will join an independent Tanzanian NGO with over two decades of experience in biodiversity protection and poverty reduction. The role involves 45 hours of work per week, primarily from Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday duties as dictated by the work plan. The monthly gross salary for this position ranges from TZS 850,000 to TZS 1,000,000, depending on the candidate's level of experience. This is a non-negotiable salary range. Key Requirements
At least a Bachelor’s degree in Land Planning
At least 2 years of experience in leading land use plan development in Tanzania
Proficiency in GIS software for mapping and data analysis
Fluency in both English and Kiswahili languages
Demonstrated knowledge of biodiversity conservation and natural resource management
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Exceptional organizational skills and track record of managing multiple tasks
Willingness to conduct frequent field trips to rural project areas
Ability to collaborate with village, ward, and district authorities effectively
Experience in project management and planning within the NGO sector
