HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) OFFICER @ NYATI MINERALS SANDS LIMITED
Nyati Minerals Sands Limited is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Officer for the Tajiri Mine Site in Pangani, Tanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (OHSE) standards across all operations. Key duties include developing OHSE policies, implementing ISO 45001:2018 systems, and conducting regular safety meetings and audits to maintain a hazard-free work environment for all employees and visitors.
The role involves monitoring surface and groundwater through environmental programs and executing comprehensive management plans. The officer will also serve as a lead in incident investigations, risk assessments, and training staff on safe work practices. Applicants must possess a valid Tanzanian driving license and demonstrate strong knowledge of local mining and environmental laws to successfully integrate safety programs within the company's operational framework.

Key Requirements
Degree in Health & Safety or a related field
ISO 45001 certification
Formal training in Risk Management and Accident Investigation
OSHA NOSCH I & II certification
3–4 years of experience in mining, processing, maintenance, or construction safety
In-depth knowledge of the Tanzanian Mining Act and Explosives Act
Proficiency in environmental laws and groundwater monitoring protocols
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili
Valid Tanzania driving license
Ability to develop and implement site-specific safe work practices and SOPs
