HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER (1 POSITION) @ NYATI MINERAL SANDS
The Health, Safety and Environmental Officer will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to occupational health, safety, and environmental standards at the Tajiri Mineral Separation Plant in Pangani, Tanga. You will be instrumental in developing and enforcing comprehensive OHSE policies and maintaining compliance with all relevant Tanzanian mining and environmental legislation. This role involves leading safety initiatives, conducting rigorous risk assessments, and managing environmental monitoring programs to ensure a safe and sustainable operational environment. You will work closely with the Plant Manager to foster a culture of safety across all mining operations.
Key Requirements
Tertiary degree in Health and Safety Management or a related field.
ISO 45001:2018 certification.
Tanzania OSHA NOSHC I & II certification.
Formal training in Risk Management and Accident Investigation.
3–4 years of safety experience in a mineral processing plant.
Strong knowledge of Tanzanian mining, environmental, and safety laws.
Valid Tanzanian driving license.
Fluent in both English and Kiswahili.
Strong report writing and documentation skills.
Ability to lead and facilitate safety training and toolbox talks.
