ACCOUNTANT @ NYANTIRA MENNONITE PRE AND PRIMARY SCHOOLS
Nyantira Mennonite Pre and Primary Schools is an English-medium educational institution owned by Kanisa la Mennonite Tanzania (KMT). Located in Kitunda, Ilala within Dar es Salaam, the school is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to manage its financial operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the school's financial integrity, overseeing high-value transactions, and ensuring that all fiscal activities align with the institution's strategic goals and educational mission. The work location is based in the Kitunda area of Dar es Salaam.
The responsibilities of this role include managing school finances, developing budgets, and ensuring full compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) regulations and other statutory requirements. The Accountant will be expected to maintain accurate financial records, implement robust internal controls, and handle fund management efficiently. Furthermore, the role involves preparing detailed financial reports and providing necessary support during audits to ensure transparency and accountability across all departments of the school.

Key Requirements
CPA qualification (mandatory)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 4 years’ experience managing large budgets and high-volume financial transactions
Strong knowledge of TRA regulations and statutory compliance
Proficiency in accounting software, especially QuickBooks
Strong analytical, strategic, and proactive approach to financial management
Experience in maintaining accurate financial records and internal controls
Ability to handle high-value transactions and fund management
Proven experience in preparing financial reports and supporting audit processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for an educational environment
