POLICY AND PLASTICS CAMPAIGNER (PPC) @ NIPE FAGIO
Nipe Fagio is seeking a dedicated Policy and Plastics Campaigner (PPC) to lead and advance policy advocacy initiatives focused on plastic pollution and sustainable waste management in Tanzania. This role involves framing strategic plastics-related campaigns, including plastic reduction efforts, national bans on single-use plastics, and the implementation of circular reuse systems. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strengthening government relations and ensuring that environmental policies align with zero-waste principles.
As the PPC, you will be responsible for conducting rigorous policy research, analysis, and writing to support legislative changes. You will engage with diverse stakeholders and government bodies to promote environmental justice and circular economy initiatives. This position requires a strategic communicator who can design and execute impactful advocacy campaigns that resonate with both policy makers and the general public. Your efforts will directly contribute to Nipe Fagio's mission of fostering a clean and sustainable environment through community-led action and systemic policy change.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, law, public policy, or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in environmental policy or advocacy.
Demonstrated experience in designing and executing successful social or environmental campaigns.
In-depth knowledge of waste management and circular economy initiatives.
Strong policy research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legislation.
Excellent technical and persuasive writing skills for policy briefs and reports.
Comprehensive understanding of Tanzania's environmental and policy landscape.
Proven expertise in stakeholder engagement and building professional government relations.
Ability to manage project coordination and organizational tasks effectively.
Fluency in both English and Swahili for communication and documentation.
Expertise in strategic communication and public advocacy techniques.
Ability to write a compelling thought piece on environmental issues such as plastic bans.
