SUPPLY CHAIN OFFICER (PLANT OPERATIONS) @ MSUFINI (T) LTD
The Supply Chain Officer (Plant Operations) serves as the primary link in ensuring the seamless functionality of our chlor-alkali plant by managing the procurement and logistics of essential materials. You will be responsible for the timely and cost-effective acquisition of chemicals, spare parts, and industrial consumables to prevent operational downtime. This role requires a high degree of proactivity and commercial acumen, as you will oversee the entire supply chain cycle from requisition to final delivery at the Mlandizi facility.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will coordinate local and international procurement, manage supplier relationships, and ensure that inventory levels of critical process chemicals remain within safety margins. The successful candidate will navigate complex logistics, including import, customs clearance, and inland transport, while maintaining precise records. Your ultimate objective is to ensure continuous plant operations through strategic supply planning and relentless follow-through on all procurement tasks.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or Commerce.
Relevant professional registration or certification.
4-6 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or industrial logistics.
2-3 years of specific experience in manufacturing, chemicals, mining, or process industries.
Proven experience in sourcing technical spares, equipment, and industrial chemicals.
Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Strong understanding of international procurement and import logistics.
Ability to manage local and international supplier relationships effectively.
Analytical mindset for supply risk mitigation and inventory reorder planning.
Strong interpersonal communication skills for cross-departmental coordination.
