Mediloop is seeking forward-thinking graduates for the AI Engineering track of the 2026 Graduate Trainee Program. Our goal is to revolutionize healthcare in Uganda by creating a national medical-data backbone, and our AI team is focused on leveraging data science to improve citizen health accessibility. This role is based at the ICT Innovation Hub in Nakawa, Kampala, offering a unique chance to work on cutting-edge artificial intelligence projects.
In this position, you will work on developing intelligent algorithms and data processing models that support the Universal Health ID system. You will collaborate with software developers and data scientists to ensure that the medical-data backbone is efficient, predictive, and secure. This trainee track is designed for high-potential individuals who want to lead the way in AI application within the African health-tech sector.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree completed or expected between 2024 and 2026.
Solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, and algorithm design.
Knowledge of AI-relevant programming languages like Python or R.
Strong leadership qualities and a desire to innovate.
Excellent communication skills to present complex data findings.
Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary technical team.
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Understanding of data cleaning, preprocessing, and management techniques.
Passion for applying AI solutions to real-world healthcare challenges.
Continuous learner with a strong interest in emerging technologies.
