MAINTANANCE INSPECTOR @ MATONGO GOLD MINE LIMITED
Matongo Gold Mine Limited (MGM) is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Inspector to join its dynamic team. This critical role is based in Tanzania, primarily within the Mara Region, with potential assignments in Mwanza. Reporting directly to the Reliability Engineer, the Maintenance Inspector plays a pivotal role in ensuring the continuous and safe operation of all mining equipment, machinery, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will be instrumental in conducting routine and thorough inspections, thereby contributing significantly to the overall efficiency and reliability of our extensive mining operations. Key responsibilities for this position include diligently ensuring inspection compliance through the use of established checklists and specialized inspection tools. The inspector will perform initial 'walk-by' inspections to accurately record equipment conditions and conduct advanced condition-based monitoring (CBM), encompassing vibration measurement, wear analysis, and shaft alignment. Furthermore, the role involves actively monitoring plant equipment by meticulously collecting and analyzing vibration data, as well as preparing detailed inspection reports and maintaining precise records of daily plant visits. This position requires a high degree of technical expertise, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and safety.
Key Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
At least 2 years of working experience in maintenance inspection
Strong mechanical diagnostic skills
Ability to use inspection tools and CBM techniques effectively (e.g., vibration measurement, wear analysis, shaft alignment)
Excellent report writing and documentation skills
High attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
Effective teamwork and communication with engineers, planners, and technicians
Experience in the mining industry is an added advantage
Certifications such as CAT 1 Vibration Analysis and Infrared Thermography Level 1 are desirable
Proficiency in data collection and analysis for equipment condition monitoring
