SENIOR ACCOUNTANT / FINANCE OFFICER @ MAFLOWER TRADING COMPANY
Maflower Trading Company is recruiting on behalf of one of our valued clients for an experienced and results-driven Senior Accountant / Finance Officer. This role involves comprehensive financial management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic support within the organization. The position is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Key responsibilities include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing and monitoring budgets and cash flow forecasts. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with all Tanzanian tax regulations (TRA, VAT, PAYE, SDL WHT, etc.). Additionally, the role involves preparing statutory returns, liaising with auditors, processing payroll, monitoring company expenses, and recommending cost-control measures. This position also requires preparing management reports and financial analysis, maintaining accurate accounting records and financial documentation, supporting management with financial planning and decision-making, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and company financial policies.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification being an added advantage. A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in accounting or finance is required, along with strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws and statutory compliance. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, Sage, or ERP systems, coupled with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail. The ability to work independently and meet deadlines is crucial for success in this position.
