QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) MANAGER – AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION @ LJ ASCENDANT GROUP
LJ Ascendant Group is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and implement quality management systems for an ongoing airport construction project in Tanga, Tanzania. The successful candidate will oversee the entire lifecycle of the construction process to ensure that all materials, workmanship, and project processes strictly comply with international aviation safety standards, local quality requirements, and all contractual obligations. This role demands a high level of technical oversight to maintain the structural integrity and operational safety of the airport facilities.
As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be the central point of contact for all quality-related project matters. You will manage non-conformance reports, conduct root-cause analysis, and ensure that effective corrective actions are implemented across all construction phases. The role involves close collaboration with client representatives, external consultants, and onsite contractors to ensure seamless project delivery. You will also supervise third-party testing laboratories and verify all material submittals, mix designs, and certificates to uphold the highest benchmarks of engineering excellence.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Manager on at least one airport construction project within the last 10 years.
More than 10 years of professional experience in QA/QC within major infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge and practical application of Quality Management Systems.
In-depth understanding of ISO 9001 standards and aviation construction regulations.
Ability to manage third-party testing laboratories and review material certifications.
Proficiency in conducting audits, inspections, and root-cause analysis.
Experience in managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and corrective action processes.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Possession of relevant certifications such as ASQ or ISO Lead Auditor is highly advantageous.
