MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN – POWER PLANT @ LAKE CEMENT LTD
Lake Cement is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Power Plant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment within the facility. This role involves performing regular inspections, identifying potential issues, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and optimize plant efficiency.
The ideal candidate should possess a VETA certification and have substantial experience in mechanical maintenance, specifically within a power plant or similar industrial setting. You will work closely with other technical staff to uphold high safety standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of our maintenance programs. Key Requirements
VETA certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field is mandatory.
3 to 5 years of proven experience in mechanical maintenance specifically within a power plant environment.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex mechanical systems and machinery.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering diagrams.
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety protocols and procedures in a power plant setting.
Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, turbines, and generators.
Skilled in the use of various hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights as required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail in technical tasks.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
