CBM TECHNICIAN (1) @ LAKE CEMENT
Lake Cement is seeking a dedicated and skilled CBM (Condition-Based Monitoring) Technician to join their maintenance team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining industrial equipment to ensure peak reliability and prevent unexpected breakdowns. This role focuses on utilizing advanced diagnostic tools for vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis to identify potential issues before they lead to failure, ensuring the smooth operation of the plant's machinery.
Key responsibilities include performing on-site monitoring tasks, interpreting complex data, and advising management on necessary corrective actions. Candidates must have a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and hands-on experience with tools like infrared cameras and ultrasonic testers. This position is strictly reserved for Tanzanian nationals, requiring a Bachelor's degree and several years of relevant experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment to maintain equipment integrity and operational efficiency.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2 – 5 years’ experience with CBM tools such as vibration analyzers, infrared cameras, and ultrasonic testers.
Proficiency in performing vibration measurements for equipment including fans, gearboxes, and pumps.
Expertise in ensuring rotating equipment is properly aligned and balanced to reduce operational wear.
Experience in thickness measurement to inspect vessels and piping for corrosion or thinning.
Ability to conduct oil analysis to detect contamination or wear in gearboxes and transformers.
Skill in calibrating CBM tools to ensure high accuracy in data readings.
Strong analytical skills to interpret technical data and recommend viable solutions.
In-depth knowledge of maintenance strategies including predictive and preventive maintenance.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with operations, planners, and maintenance teams.
