ACCOUNTS OFFICER @ LAKE CEMENT
Lake Cement is seeking a dedicated Accounts Officer to oversee and manage day-to-day financial operations at the plant located in Kigamboni. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, including the maintenance of accurate records for CSR expenses, Funeral Funds, and Annual Leave ledgers. You will also manage and reconcile petty cash transactions, ensuring that all factory-related expenditures are properly accounted for and followed up on in a timely manner. This role is vital for supporting the Finance and Accounts department in achieving smooth monthly and annual financial closures.
In addition to ledger maintenance, the Accounts Officer will handle critical statutory compliance tasks such as filing VAT returns through the TRA portal and calculating returns for WCF, SDL, and Withholding Tax. You will work closely with the HR department to verify employee advances and loans for final settlements and prepare monthly salary data for payroll processing. The position requires booking transporter invoices into the ERP system and reconciling them with Goods Received Notes (GRNs) for monthly provisions. Ideal candidates must be detail-oriented and capable of working effectively under pressure in a high-volume industrial environment.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a Diploma in Accountancy.
CPA Intermediate or an equivalent professional certification.
Proven experience in independent cash handling and daybook maintenance.
Strong understanding of monthly and annual book closures and financial reporting.
Advanced Excel skills, specifically proficiency with VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas.
Experience in performing bank reconciliations for both current and overdraft accounts.
Familiarity with document flow, inventory management, and bill processing within an ERP environment.
Ability to calculate contractor and transporter bills and verify manpower working days.
Competency in filing statutory returns including WCF, SDL, and Withholding Tax.
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
