TECHNICAL OFFICER – ORGANIC WASTE RECYCLING @ KILIMO ENDELEVU ARUSHA (KEA)
The Kilimo Endelevu Arusha (KEA) project is a significant environmental initiative implemented by a consortium including CARI, RECODA, and MVIWAARUSHA, focusing on Northern Tanzania. The program aims to promote sustainable land management and agroecology by transforming urban organic waste into high-quality soil resources. This role is crucial for improving food security and providing innovative solutions for local farmers over the project's lifespan from 2025 to 2028. The salary for this position is negotiable.
The Technical Officer will be responsible for developing composting strategies and conducting technical trials on soil fertility. Beyond technical tasks, the role involves stakeholder facilitation, economic model support, and the preparation of detailed project reports to ensure project transparency and success. The position offers a 24-month contract based in Arusha, starting in June 2026, and requires a candidate who is passionate about sustainable agriculture and environmental solutions.

Key Requirements
Master’s degree in Agriculture, Environment, or a related field.
At least 3 years’ professional experience in waste management, agroecology, or natural resource management.
Strong skills in project management and organizational coordination.
Proficiency in data analysis and technical reporting.
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication.
High level of integrity and professional adaptability in a field environment.
Knowledge of soil fertility and organic composting techniques.
Experience in developing or supporting economic models for recycling initiatives.
Ability to conduct technical trials and translate results into practical farming advice.
Willingness to commit to a 24-month duration starting June 2026.
