PROCUREMENT OFFICER (STEEL MANUFACTURING) @ KAZIBORA HR CONSULTANCY
Our client, a leading steel manufacturing company in Tanzania, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage procurement activities across steel production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain process, ensuring the availability of critical materials and services required to maintain seamless operations in a high-pressure manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to forecast needs, evaluate supplier performance, and optimize costs. You will be expected to manage complex procurement cycles for specialized steel plant equipment and consumables, ensuring that all procurement activities comply with company standards and contribute to operational efficiency.

Key Requirements
Experience in procurement within steel manufacturing, heavy industrial, or engineering environment.
Knowledge of Induction Furnace, CCM, Rolling Mill, Wire Drawing, Nail & Weld Mesh operations.
Strong understanding of mechanical & electrical spare parts and consumables.
Excellent negotiation, supplier management and communication skills.
Diploma/Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field.
Proficiency in ERP systems for purchase order management.
Strong analytical skills for cost comparison and budget management.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle complex documentation.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
