QUALIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT @ KAFIKA HOUSE
Kafika House is an international NGO based in Arusha, Tanzania, dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing home-away-from-home environment for children undergoing pre- and post-operative care. The organization focuses on rehabilitation for surgically treatable disabilities, including conditions such as cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, skeletal fluorosis, and burn scar contractures. Their mission is to ensure that no child in Tanzania has to live with a treatable disability by providing high-quality pediatric care and advocate for the best medical outcomes for every patient.
The Qualified Nursing Assistant will play a critical role within the Clinical Services team, supporting the delivery of comprehensive pediatric care through detailed patient assessments, medication management, and wound care. Responsibilities include participating in clinical rounds, maintaining accurate electronic medical records, and educating patients and their families on treatment plans and recovery instructions. This position operates on a rotating roster that includes evenings and weekends to ensure continuous care at the facility located in Arusha, Ngaramtoni.

Key Requirements
Possess a Certificate or Diploma as a Nursing Assistant or Medical Attendant from a recognized institution
A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in a healthcare or clinical setting
Previous experience working with pediatric patients or in surgical care environments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Kiswahili
Ability to work on a rotating roster including evenings and weekends
High standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and medical ethics
Basic computer literacy and the ability to maintain electronic patient records
Compassion and patience when dealing with children and their families
Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills
Ability to perform wound care and therapeutic exercises according to care plans
