The Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing daily logistics, transportation, and operational activities to ensure the efficient movement of goods. This role involves active collaboration with internal departments, external transporters, and warehouse teams to maintain high service standards and operational continuity. The position requires a proactive individual capable of managing complex transport arrangements, tracking deliveries in real-time, and resolving any logistical bottlenecks that may arise during the transit process.
Furthermore, the coordinator will be tasked with maintaining meticulous documentation, including Proof of Delivery (POD) records, delivery notes, and transport contracts. By comparing various transporter quotations, the incumbent will ensure cost-effectiveness while supporting procurement and inventory management duties. Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration or related field
2–4 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, operations or administration
Experience coordinating trucks/inland transportation in Tanzania
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Email applications
Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict delivery timelines
Highly organised and proactive approach to problem-solving
Knowledge of international and domestic shipping documentation
Understanding of inventory management systems and tracking software
Capability to negotiate rates and manage transporter relationships
