ACCOUNTANT @ IT COMPANY DSM
An IT company based in Dar es Salaam is seeking a motivated, qualified, and experienced Accountant to join their team immediately. The successful candidate will be fully responsible for managing accounting operations and supporting management with accurate and timely financial reporting, while contributing to the continued growth of the company. This role requires a professional who can lead and supervise the office and accounting team effectively with minimal supervision.
The role involves a high level of responsibility, including cash handling, preparing daily and monthly journals, and managing debtor and creditor accounts. The candidate must ensure full compliance with Tanzanian accounting and regulatory requirements, including the filing of statutory reports like VAT, TAX, and NSSF. Key Requirements
Extensive working experience in the accounting field with recognized accounting certifications.
Strong leadership and management skills to supervise an accounting team.
Proven experience in financial control without direct supervision from Directors.
High level of accuracy, integrity, and accountability in financial management.
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Word, and MS Excel.
Knowledge of Tanzanian accounting and regulatory requirements.
Ability to prepare and file monthly and annual statutory reports (VAT, TAX, NSSF).
Experience in managing debtor and creditor accounts and ensuring timely settlements.
Expertise in cash handling and managing payment vouchers/documentation.
Ability to prepare daily and monthly journals and financial summaries.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
