BAU INTEGRATION SPECIALIST @ IOCO
The BAU (Business-as-Usual) Integration Specialist is a vital role within the banking sector, primarily responsible for the maintenance, support, and enhancement of integration solutions across various financial systems. This role is offered on a 3 to 6-month contract basis, requiring the candidate to work on-site in Johannesburg for four days a week, with one day of remote flexibility. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the stability, reliability, and peak performance of integrations between core banking platforms, internal applications, and third-party services.
Key responsibilities include providing day-to-day support for integration platforms such as APIs, ESB, and messaging systems, while monitoring system performance to resolve incidents within established SLAs. You will perform root cause analysis for recurring issues, manage data flows between digital channels and external partners, and coordinate deployments or configuration changes in BAU environments. Additionally, you will ensure data integrity and security in compliance with banking regulations, maintain technical documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall system efficiency.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
3–6 years of experience in system integration support specifically within financial services or banking.
Strong knowledge of integration technologies including REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, ESB, and messaging queues.
Proven experience with core banking systems and third-party financial integrations.
In-depth understanding of SQL, data formats like JSON and XML, and data mapping techniques.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Knowledge of ITIL processes including incident, problem, and change management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Valid South African Work Permit if not a South African resident.
Proactive and service-oriented mindset toward incident resolution.
