PROCUREMENT AND STORES ASSISTANT @ INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF TANGANYIKA (IST)
The Procurement and Stores Assistant at the International School of Tanganyika provides essential administrative and operational support to the finance and procurement department. The incumbent will be responsible for managing purchasing cycles, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring that all departmental policies and audit standards are strictly followed. This role requires a professional who can handle supplier coordination, document tracking, and internal department communication with high levels of integrity and accuracy. The position is based in Tanzania and involves close collaboration with various school departments to ensure the timely fulfillment of requisitions and the efficient management of institutional assets.
Candidates will be expected to assist with process improvement initiatives and handle procurement data with full confidentiality. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing stock counts, and proficient in identifying and reporting discrepancies in incoming goods. As a key member of the finance team, the assistant will contribute to the overall operational efficiency of the school by maintaining orderly files and providing robust support for all purchasing and logistics activities.

Key Requirements
Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Administration
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in procurement or logistics
Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel
Understanding of inventory controls and documentation
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional integrity
Bachelor's degree in a related field is an added advantage
Experience with ERP or inventory management software
Capability to resolve supplier issues and track deliveries efficiently
