ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT @ INTERCHICK COMPANY LIMITED
Interchick Company Limited, Tanzania's leading integrated poultry enterprise, is seeking a qualified Assistant Accountant to support its financial operations at the Dar es Salaam headquarters. The role focuses on inventory management, sales reconciliation, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records across the company's extensive "Farm-to-Family" value chain. The Assistant Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and supporting the production of high-quality animal feed and poultry products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reconciliations between the system and physical stock, managing raw material transfers, and verifying payments for transporters and casual laborers. Additionally, the role involves preparing month-end standard journals and participating in statutory audits. Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance or an equivalent professional qualification.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance roles.
Age between 22 and 35 years at the time of application.
Strong proficiency in performing stock and inventory reconciliations between physical counts and system ledgers.
Ability to review daily sales reports and reconcile finished feed production outputs accurately.
Experience in verifying invoices from transporters and processing casual laborers’ claims for approval.
Competency in preparing and posting month-end standard journals and other financial entries.
Knowledge of year-end statutory audits and internal audit review procedures.
Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to operate effectively within specialized financial systems and stock management software.
Strong communication skills for coordinating raw material transfers between various production locations.
