AGRICULTURAL OFFICER @ INSTAGRO
InstAgro is seeking a passionate and experienced Agricultural Officer to join their team. The primary role is to provide expert agricultural guidance and technical support to both InstAgro and its clients. This involves analyzing various agricultural factors such as soil, climate, crops, and pests to help farmers make informed decisions that lead to higher productivity and profitability.
Key responsibilities include assessing soil types to determine suitable crops, advising clients on optimal crop selection based on soil, climate, and market demand, and recommending appropriate farming inputs like fertilizers and soil amendments. The officer will also monitor weather patterns for planting and harvesting advice, identify pest and disease control measures, and guide sustainable farming practices including land preparation, irrigation, and crop rotation. Furthermore, the role involves supporting land selection for clients, conducting farm visits, and preparing technical reports, while staying updated on new agricultural technologies. The work will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in agricultural advisory, extension, or farm management.
Strong knowledge of soil types, crops, fertilizers, pest and disease management, and climate.
Ability to analyze agricultural data and provide practical solutions.
Excellent communication and client advisory skills.
Demonstrated passion for agriculture and a commitment to helping farmers succeed.
Proficiency in both Swahili and English languages.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in conducting farm visits, inspections, and field assessments.
Ability to prepare comprehensive technical reports and recommendations.
