Our client in the Banking and Financial Services sector is seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analyst to join their dynamic trading and risk environment in Johannesburg. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity for a technically strong professional with exposure to Cross Asset Trading & Risk (CATR), derivatives, and front-office trading systems. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business, risk, and technology, working in a fast-paced environment that demands both technical excellence and financial acumen.
The role involves collaborating with business and technical teams to enhance non-linear trading functionality and driving future trading integration solutions through APIs and backend systems. Key responsibilities include analyzing financial risk, uncertainty, and trading analytics while working closely with stakeholders across trading, risk, and technology teams to support platform users and contribute to ongoing product improvements. The successful candidate will also lead requirements analysis and project delivery initiatives to ensure optimal system performance. The remuneration for this position is R110 000 – R150 000 per month.

Key Requirements
BSc Mathematical Sciences, Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science, or an Engineering Degree.
Significant experience within the Banking and Insurance industry sectors.
In-depth knowledge of Cross Asset Trading & Risk (CATR) frameworks.
Strong experience in Quantitative Analysis and financial modeling.
Exposure to Derivatives Trading, Volatility X Valuations, and Analytics.
Proficiency in trading applications such as Front Arena, Murex, or Calypso.
Technical proficiency in programming languages like Python, SQL, C#, C++, Java, Matlab, VBA, or R.
Exceptional analytical, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lead requirements analysis and drive project delivery initiatives.
Professional certifications such as CQF or CFA are considered highly advantageous.
