ROAD SAFETY SPECIALIST/TRAFFIC ENGINEER @ ICT
ICT is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Road Safety Specialist/Traffic Engineer for an ongoing consultancy services project in Kenya. This role focuses on the construction supervision of Lot 2 for the upgrading of the Gari-Rhamu (A13) Road. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of traffic management and safety throughout the duration of the 30-month full-time project, ensuring that the highway construction meets international and local safety standards.
The project is of significant complexity and scale, requiring a professional who can provide expert guidance on road safety engineering and traffic flow optimization. The specialist will work closely with the supervision team to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of both the workers and the public. This opportunity is ideal for a registered engineer with a strong background in highway infrastructure and extensive regional experience in East Africa. The work is located primarily along the Gari-Rhamu corridor in Kenya.

Key Requirements
B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
Registered Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya or an equivalent recognized professional body
At least ten (10) years of overall professional experience in the engineering sector
At least five (5) years of extensive experience specifically in Traffic and Road Safety Engineering
At least five (5) years of extensive experience working on highway projects of similar size and complexity
Previous professional experience working within the Kenyan or East African regional context
Ability to commit to a full-time position for a contract duration of 30 months
In-depth knowledge of road safety standards and traffic engineering principles
Proficiency in traffic modeling and road safety audit software tools
Excellent technical report writing and communication skills in English
