SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER / MECHANICAL ENGINEER @ HSD-MELT
Hsd-melt is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Kimbiji, Kigamboni, Tanzania. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of TZS 3.5M – 4.0M per month. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and operational excellence of our mechanical equipment within an integrated cement plant environment. Key responsibilities for this role include leading maintenance teams, managing departmental resources, conducting thorough root cause analyses to implement effective corrective actions, and meticulously planning annual maintenance and shutdowns. The engineer will also be responsible for strategic spare parts management and upholding stringent ISO standards, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and 5S practices. This position demands a proactive approach to maintenance, a strong commitment to safety, and a continuous drive for cost optimization and efficiency.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 8 years' experience in an integrated cement plant.
Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles.
Proven experience with cement plant equipment (crushers, VRMs, kilns, clinker coolers, conveyors, ball mills, compressors, pollution control systems).
Hands-on experience in major equipment overhauls, troubleshooting, and machinery alignment.
Proficiency in shutdown planning and maintenance management systems (ERP/CMMS).
Strong leadership, budgeting, resource planning, and cost optimization skills.
Ability to ensure equipment reliability and safety compliance.
Skilled in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Experience in planning annual maintenance, shutdowns, and spare parts management.
Commitment to maintaining ISO standards, TPM, and 5S practices.
