QUANTITY SURVEYOR – CONSTRUCTION @ HSD-MELT
HSD-MELT is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to manage all costs related to our construction projects in Tanzania. This role involves everything from initial calculations to the final accounts, ensuring that projects remain financially viable while meeting high quality standards. You will work closely with the procurement and project teams to manage contracts and mitigate financial risks throughout the project duration.
The ideal candidate will be adept at preparing Bills of Quantities, conducting site measurements, and managing subcontractor payments. Your expertise will be vital in controlling construction costs and ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently. You will play a key role in the tendering process and provide valuable financial insights to the senior management team.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics, or a related discipline.
Registered with a professional body such as TIQS or RICS.
Minimum of 5 years of practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
Strong proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
Expertise in preparing and analyzing Bills of Quantities and tender documents.
Deep understanding of construction contracts and legal requirements.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for precise cost calculation.
Proven ability to manage subcontractor claims and variations.
Effective negotiation skills for procurement and contract discussions.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple project budgets simultaneously.
