PROJECT MANAGER – AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION @ HSD-MELT
HSD-MELT is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead airport construction initiatives in Tanzania. This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of airport infrastructure projects, from initial planning and design through to final execution and handover. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with international safety and quality standards.
As a Project Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including government authorities, contractors, and technical teams. You will manage complex logistics, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, and implement robust project management methodologies. This is a critical leadership position that requires a deep understanding of large-scale infrastructure projects and the unique challenges associated with aviation construction.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is highly desirable.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
Proven track record of managing large-scale airport or aviation-related infrastructure projects.
In-depth knowledge of airport safety regulations and international building codes.
Proficiency in project management software, including MS Project or Primavera P6.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse, multicultural teams.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder management.
Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and financial reporting.
Willingness to reside in or travel frequently to project sites across Tanzania.
