PROJECT MANAGER (1 POSITION) @ HSD-MELT
hsd-melt is seeking a highly qualified and skilled Project Manager to spearhead oil & gas, terminals, and depot infrastructure projects throughout East Africa. This role involves leading projects from the initial kick-off phase through to final commissioning, ensuring that all project schedules, milestones, and deliverables are met in accordance with the technical scope and contractual obligations. As the primary point of contact for clients, the Project Manager will organize and lead progress meetings, manage client expectations, and ensure strict contract compliance across all project phases. The salary for this position is 5,000,000 TZS Gross.
Technical coordination is a core part of this role, requiring the management of electrical, automation, mechanical, and TMS/PLC/ATG systems. You will be responsible for validating technical solutions, tracking international and local equipment procurement, and overseeing site activities including installation, commissioning, and contractor management. Safety and quality are paramount; hence, the successful candidate must ensure all activities comply with OSHA, ATEX, PPEs, and NFPA standards. While the primary location is Tanzania, the role necessitates frequent travel to several countries including Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Malawi, and the DRC.

Key Requirements
4–8 years of experience in project management within oil & gas, terminals, or depot infrastructure.
Proven experience in fuel depots, tank farms, loading gantries, and automation systems.
Strong background in Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation, or Mechanical/Piping.
Experience managing EPC/EPCM or multi-disciplinary projects.
Strong knowledge of HSE standards (OSHA, ATEX, NFPA) and oil & gas industry practices.
Previous professional experience working within the East Africa region.
Technical proficiency in MS Project, MS Office, AutoCAD, and P&ID reading.
Advanced skills in budget tracking and project cost control.
Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Swahili is a strong advantage.
HSE certification (OSHA or equivalent) and an Engineering degree are highly preferred.
Willingness and ability to travel to Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Malawi, and DRC.
Excellent leadership and communication skills for managing internal and external stakeholders.
