PROJECT MANAGER (1 POSITION) @ HSD-MELT
Our client is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to spearhead oil & gas, terminals, and depot infrastructure projects across the East Africa region. The successful candidate will lead projects from the initial kick-off phase through to final commissioning, ensuring that all project schedules, milestones, and deliverables are met while maintaining strict alignment between technical scope, contractual obligations, and execution strategies. This role is based in Tanzania but requires significant travel to support operations in Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The salary for this position is 5,000,000 TZS Gross.
In addition to project execution, the Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing progress meetings and ensuring overall client satisfaction and contract compliance. Key responsibilities include coordinating multi-disciplinary technical systems such as electrical, automation, mechanical, and TMS/PLC/ATG systems, alongside supervising site installations and commissioning activities. The role also demands rigorous budget monitoring, procurement tracking, and unwavering compliance with international and local HSE standards, including OSHA, ATEX, and NFPA, to ensure high-quality delivery and safety across all project sites.

Key Requirements
4–8 years of experience in project management within oil & gas, terminals, or depot infrastructure.
Proven experience working with fuel depots, tank farms, loading gantries, and automation systems.
Strong technical background in Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation, or Mechanical/Piping.
Demonstrated experience managing EPC/EPCM or complex multi-disciplinary projects.
In-depth knowledge of HSE standards such as OSHA, ATEX, and NFPA within the oil & gas industry.
Previous professional experience working within the East Africa region.
Proficiency in technical software including MS Project, MS Office, and AutoCAD.
Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings and manage technical validations.
Strong financial acumen for budget tracking, cost control, and margin monitoring.
Mandatory fluency in English; proficiency in Swahili is considered a strong advantage.
Possession of an Engineering degree and relevant HSE certifications like OSHA.
