HSE HEAD – CONSTRUCTION @ HSD-MELT
We are looking for a dedicated HSE Head to lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives for our construction projects in Tanzania. The HSE Head will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety protocols to ensure a zero-harm environment on all work sites. You will lead a team of safety officers and work closely with project managers to integrate safety into every phase of the construction process.
The role requires a proactive professional who can conduct thorough risk assessments, lead incident investigations, and provide safety training to all levels of personnel. By fostering a culture of safety awareness, you will help HSD-MELT maintain its reputation for excellence and compliance with both local Tanzanian laws and international HSE standards.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
Recognized professional safety certification such as NEBOSH Diploma or IOSH.
At least 8 years of experience in HSE management within the construction or engineering sector.
Thorough knowledge of Tanzanian OSHA regulations and international safety standards.
Experience in implementing and auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
Strong analytical skills for conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
Proven ability to design and deliver effective safety training programs.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to influence safety culture.
Ability to produce detailed technical reports and safety performance metrics.
Experience managing HSE teams across multiple active construction sites.
