RESTAURANT CHEF @ HRWORLD
This role involves overseeing the entire kitchen operation, including supervising staff to ensure proper and safe work practices. The Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, and supervising the production of high-quality dishes, as well as designing and updating menus to include seasonal, themed, promotional, and signature dishes. The position requires a keen eye for food quality, analyzing customer feedback for continuous improvement, and ensuring strict compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP principles, health, sanitation, and hygiene standards. Furthermore, the Chef will manage inventories, handle procurement requirements, and focus on minimizing food wastage while optimizing kitchen productivity. The role also includes managing overall kitchen and food costs to stay within acceptable limits and contributing to achieving revenue and profitability targets. Beyond kitchen management, the Restaurant Chef will support restaurant marketing initiatives through participation in food festivals, culinary events, and special promotions to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
Key Requirements
Specialized training in culinary courses
Proficiency in Food Safety, Hygiene & Quality control
At least 5 years of experience in a multicultural cuisine environment
Prior experience working in a 4-star restaurant is preferred
Demonstrated experience in kitchen supervision/management and team management
Skilled in Asian, European & African cuisines
Proficiency in menu planning & food costing
Good customer service & communication skills, fluent in Kiswahili/English
