DECLARATION SUPERVISOR @ HIRING SPECIAL
Hiring Special is searching for an experienced and proactive Declaration Supervisor to lead our customs declaration team in Dar es Salaam. This pivotal role involves overseeing all customs declaration processes, ensuring full compliance with local and international trade regulations, and managing a team of declaration officers. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of customs laws and a proven track record in supervisory roles within the logistics or international trade sector. This position is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.As Declaration Supervisor, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving all declaration documents, liaising with customs authorities, and resolving any issues related to import/export clearances. You will also train and mentor your team, implement best practices, and continuously seek ways to optimize declaration processes for efficiency and accuracy. This role requires exceptional leadership, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Requirements
Relevant Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
Proven supervisory experience in customs declaration and export/import operations.
Extensive knowledge of local customs laws, regulations, and tariffs.
Proficiency in customs declaration systems and software.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to oversee and ensure accuracy of all declaration documents.
Strong communication and negotiation skills with customs officials.
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Relevant work experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
