COST ACCOUNTANT @ HIRECRTEST
We are looking for a dedicated Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing costing and analysis, which includes maintaining and updating standard costing for materials, labor, and overhead. You will perform detailed variance analysis and monitor cost per unit across machines and product lines to deliver valuable product-level profitability insights. This role is essential for maintaining financial accuracy within our production processes.
In addition to costing duties, you will manage inventory monitoring for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. You will be tasked with identifying slow or non-moving inventory and conducting regular stock audits and reconciliations. Utilizing ERP systems, preferably ERP Next, you will validate Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing setups while supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts. This position requires a proactive individual capable of conducting break-even and margin analysis to support organizational audits and ensure accurate cost allocation.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a cost accounting role.
Proven experience within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in using ERP systems, with a strong preference for ERP Next.
In-depth understanding of material, labor, and overhead cost structures.
Strong ability to perform variance analysis and provide profitability insights.
Experience in conducting stock audits and inventory reconciliations.
Ability to validate Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing setups accurately.
Skills in budgeting, forecasting, and conducting break-even analysis.
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail in financial reporting.
