WELDING ENGINEER @ HIRECREST
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Welding Engineer to join our team in Kenya, East Africa. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of professional experience in managing and improving welding processes within a fabrication environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all operations meet international standards such as AWS, ISO, and EN, while providing essential support to fabrication and production teams to maintain high-quality output.
In this role, you will be expected to develop and implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), monitor welding parameters, and conduct thorough welder qualification and certification processes. You will also play a critical role in defect analysis and the implementation of corrective actions, as well as supporting Quality Control (QC) and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities. Key Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in welding engineering or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and PQR (Procedure Qualification Records).
Comprehensive knowledge of international welding standards, specifically AWS D1.1, ISO 3834, and EN 1090.
Proficiency in various welding processes including SMAW, GMAW (MIG/MAG), FCAW, and SAW.
Strong expertise in weld inspection techniques and the analysis of welding defects.
Experience in conducting and managing welder qualification and certification tests.
Ability to support and coordinate Quality Control (QC) and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities.
Proven track record of optimizing welding processes for enhanced quality and productivity.
Familiarity with welding automation technologies is considered a significant advantage.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to implement effective corrective actions for quality assurance.
Excellent technical communication skills and the ability to work in a heavy engineering environment.
