FOOD TECHNOLOGIST @ HIRECREST
Hirecrest is looking for a skilled Food Technologist to join their team in Uganda, East Africa. This role is pivotal for driving innovation within the FMCG and food processing sector, focusing on product development and recipe enhancements. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing sensory evaluations, conducting stability studies, and executing lab trials to ensure product excellence and market competitiveness. Beyond development, the role emphasizes rigorous food safety and quality assurance. You will ensure all processes align with international standards such as FSSC, ISO, and HACCP. Responsibilities include managing documentation, developing SOPs, and addressing quality issues. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with at least 2 years of experience to contribute to a growing manufacturing environment in East Africa.
Key Requirements
Degree in Food Science or related field
2+ years of experience in FMCG or food manufacturing
Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards (FSSC, ISO, HACCP)
Demonstrated ability in product development and recipe improvement
Experience conducting sensory evaluations and shelf-life stability studies
Skills in executing lab trials and pilot plant operations
Proficiency in food safety compliance and labeling standards
Experience managing technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures
Ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues in production
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
