FOOD TECHNOLOGIST @ HIRECREST
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Food Technologist to join the Hirecrest team in Kenya. The role is centered on new product development (NPD) and enhancing existing food processing techniques. The candidate will work closely with manufacturing teams to execute pilot plant trials, conduct sensory evaluations, and perform shelf-life stability studies to guarantee the best possible consumer experience. Beyond the lab, the role requires a strong focus on regulatory affairs and safety standards. The successful candidate will ensure all products meet labeling requirements and food safety certifications like FSSC 22000. Responsibilities include handling SOPs, managing quality issues, and maintaining rigorous documentation to support continuous improvement in food manufacturing processes in Kenya.
Key Requirements
Degree in Food Science or related field
2+ years of experience in FMCG or food manufacturing
Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards (FSSC, ISO, HACCP)
Demonstrated ability in product development and recipe improvement
Experience conducting sensory evaluations and shelf-life stability studies
Skills in executing lab trials and pilot plant operations
Proficiency in food safety compliance and labeling standards
Experience managing technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures
Ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues in production
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
