BUSINESS HEAD – GASES @ HIRECREST
Hirecrest is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Head – Gases to lead and grow their industrial gas operations in Tanzania. This senior leadership role involves driving business growth, managing gas trading operations for products such as Argon and Carbon Dioxide, and overseeing entire plant production processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring machinery efficiency, maintaining a zero-accident workplace through rigorous OHS standards, and managing the logistical complexities of fleet and cylinder deliveries. The role requires a strategic thinker with over 10 years of experience in heavy industries like manufacturing or chemicals. Beyond operational oversight, the Business Head will manage budgeting, P&L, and ensure full regulatory compliance with local standards. We are looking for a leader who embodies integrity and consistency, capable of managing large teams and maintaining smooth operations across all facets of the industrial gas business. The position involves high-level decision-making and the implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance market share and operational excellence within the Tanzanian region.
Key Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial gases, chemicals, or heavy engineering.
Proven track record in team management and operational leadership.
Deep understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and P&L management.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Management is preferred.
Strong leadership style characterized by integrity, consistency, and ownership.
Ability to maintain calm and effective communication under high-pressure situations.
Expertise in OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) and ensuring safety compliance.
Extensive experience in plant production and machinery efficiency management.
Skilled in managing fleet logistics and end-to-end cylinder delivery operations.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance, permits, and quality standards for the gas industry.
