RELIEF SECTION MANAGER @ GRUMETI FUND TRUST
The Relief Section Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating field operations across a variety of conservation domains, including invasive plant control, fire management, animal welfare, rhino protection, and anti-poaching initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all field activities are executed with the highest standards of safety, planning, and operational excellence. The incumbent will serve in the Serengeti District, working closely with the Conservation Manager to maintain the ecological integrity of the region while managing diverse field teams.
Key duties involve supervising staff, directing field routes, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining detailed documentation, managing equipment logistics, and providing intelligence support for anti-poaching units. Key Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Wildlife Management, Conservation, Ecology, or Forestry.
2–3 years of professional experience in wildlife conservation or field operations.
Demonstrated experience in firefighting and invasive species management.
Proven ability to supervise field rangers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
Strong understanding of anti-poaching intelligence and logistical support.
Proficiency in digital reporting tools and two-way radio communication.
Ability to conduct staff training on wildlife safety and first aid.
Physical resilience and ability to work in remote, rugged environments.
Deep understanding of safety protocols and incident documentation.
Exceptional integrity and strict adherence to data confidentiality regarding wildlife metrics.
