IMPORTS MANAGER @ GREAT LAKES FREIGHT
Great Lakes Freight is seeking a dedicated and experienced Imports Manager to join our dynamic clearing and transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire import process, ensuring that all shipments are handled efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves close coordination with various stakeholders, including customs officials, shipping lines, and transport providers, to facilitate the smooth flow of goods through the supply chain.

Key Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in clearing and forwarding or logistics management.
In-depth knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and tariff codes.
Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within the transport industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage relationships with shipping lines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines for shipment clearance.
Strong problem-solving skills to address delays or logistical bottlenecks.
